Laurel

I met the most lovely food blogger the other day. Her name is Laurel, and we ended up taking photos at Peixoto in Downtown Phoenix. We met up in the early morning, and the way the light was coming in was magical. No flash was used in the making of this shoot.

This hat blew my mind. Laurel looks so good in it, and it adds SO much interest to the image.

Can you believe Laurel's eyes?

Big news.....!

Everyone, I want you to meet Nicole. She is my first hired hand. Together, we are working to make photography a full-time deal. This is fantastic for me because I've been in Illinois, Italy, Phoenix never in one spot long enough to build up a customer base. Since I am in Phoenix for the foreseeable future we're going to build our clientele here.

Bailey

The other day Bailey and I went to a cafe/restaurant/bar called The Henry in Scottsdale. Very interesting place. It's a huge building that they use as a restaurant concept test kitchen (from what I've heard). The important part of The Henry is that they've got floor to ceiling windows on every exterior wall. Thus, the light is convenient for photography purposes.

In come Bailey and I with our cameras. She does freelance photography for brands looking for instagram fodder, and I obviously do portraits. Currently, she is working with The Shine Project which employs inner city youth to make jewelry providing them with income and scholarships. So, incorporated in the photo shoot were her bracelets that she got from them.

Super cool, I know. She also works with Cold Stone *hallelujah chorus*.
