Street Photography in Rome
Today, I found out that one of my roommates (I have 9) is named Emily and is also a photographer. She also kind of looks like me. It's all very freaky, but in an awesome kind of way. Anywho, I had my camera on me after I learned this little tid bit, and with photography on my mind I took some pictures on the mile walk from campus to our apartment.
If you know anything about my photography it's that I am a portrait photographer. That's all I really have had much interest in the past few years. However, I decided today to try my hand at street photography because ROME.
Here are my first few "street photography" shots. I think I've found a new love.
When in Rome
Yesterday, I arrived in Rome *cheers*.
The airline lost my baggage, but everything else has been smooth in my little transition. I've been touring the campus and surrounding neighborhood a bit, but I haven't had a chance to visit Vatican City (which I can see from parts of campus) or The Colosseum. I would love to visit other parts of Europe, but I'm not sure where to start. I definitely want Barcelona and Dublin, but I'm not sure that there are others I'm dying to see. Comment your favorite cities and Countries and why, and I might add it to the list :).
The city is surprisingly underwhelming until you go to campus which is about a mile away. There it begins looking like what you think Italy ought to look like, and that's where the pictures were taken. I had a portrait lens on my camera and not a lens more used for landscapes. So, these aren't very descriptive of the city, but I'm working on it.

2014 and the skirt
The last Christmas gift I received this year was from my sister, and the second I put it on I knew it was my new favorite thing.
You can ask Lane how I reacted. There was twirling.
Anyway, all three shoots I've done this 2014 so far have included The Skirt and dogs. Two shoots were me, one was Tori, and all three were FRIGID. I'm pretty sick right now.
Monday, I fly to Italy where I will be living in Italian luxury, and you will be able to see those images on my blog and Facebook!
