Shooting Film

I had the awesome opportunity to use my dad's film camera for the first time this month. I'm 20, and I have only ever shot digital. I was also hesitant to shoot film because I loooove editing.

I used windows, reflections, and negative space for these. Some taken in the garage, and some are from the dining room. All are from random places around our parents' house.

I am so giddy with how these turned out. It's new for me to not be able to see the images right when I take them. I was incredibly precise with posing Lane. She can tell you she was almost driven mad with how many small tweaks I forced upon her before I would hit the shutter.

The Girls

Tori, Lane, and I explored the frozen tundra that is the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. We visited Lincoln Hall, The Student Union, and ended at Tori's apartment.

I love how these turned out. We just took our mutual day off to hang out and get some pictures at the same time.

I'll be finishing out with some business headshots from my Shih Tzu, Elle.

Styling the dress form

For Christmas this year I got many different photography-centric things. My sister got me a monogrammed leather camera strap (brownie points forever for that one), I got some building supplies for studio stuff, and I got a dress form.

So, today, I decided to play with the dress form. I bought some tulle ($25) and made a skirt by hand stitching it to elastic.

Then, I found a blue dress my sister left here and put it underneath the skirt. I bought some flowers on sale from Michael's last year ($25). Last, we have some butterfly broaches from my grandmother.

All in all, the only thing I had to buy was the tulle, and I think it looks fabulous.
